Harvest Area and Rice Production in Central Java Province 2023 (Provisional Figures)

Abstract

In 2023, the rice harvest area is estimated to be 1.64 million hectares with rice production of around 9.06 million tonnes of milled dry grain (GKG).
If converted to rice for food consumption, rice production is estimated at 5.21 million tons.
The rice harvest area in 2023 will decrease by 0.05 million hectares or 2.86 percent compared to the rice harvest area in 2022 of 1.69 million hectares.
Rice production in 2023 will decrease by 0.29 million tons of GKG or 3.15 percent compared to rice production in 2022 of 9.36 million tons of GKG.
Rice production in 2023 for food consumption for the population will decrease by 0.17 million tons or 3.15 percent compared to rice production in 2022 which was 5.38 million tons.
