Abstract

  • In October 2023, combined inflation for six cities in Central Java will be 0.18 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.8. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation.
  • The main cause of inflation in October 2023 is the increase in commodity prices for gasoline, red chilies, rice, cayenne pepper and sugar. The main barrier to inflation is the decline in commodity prices for pure chicken eggs, purebred chicken meat, shallots, watermelon and cooking oil.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2023 is 2.17 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2023 to October 2022) is 2.81 percent.
